Plus-size Clothes: Fashion’s Next Big Thing – In the UK, 21 per cent of women are now classed as obese – double the figure of 20 years ago. With clothing sales as a whole falling, plus-size outfits are expected to account for 23.2 per cent of the womenswear market this year, up from 18.7 per cent. The demand is so huge that one in four of all women’s fashions sold this year will be a plus size – counted as 18 and over.
