Celebrities Team up With ShelterBox for CharityCelebrities Team up With ShelterBox for Charity – Shelterbox, the disaster relief charity, is to launch a pop-up shop and eBay auction with donations from the likes of Emma Watson and Sienna Miller. ‘The ShelterBox Celebrity Pop Up Shop’ will open for a week from Friday, on London’s Regent Street.

Celebrities Team up With ShelterBox for Charity

ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. ShelterBox’s HQ is in Cornwall in the UK. There are 18 international affiliates.

ShelterBox provides a green box tailored to every disaster, but, typically contains a relief tent for an extended family, including blankets, water purification and storage equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.

Celebrities Team up With ShelterBox for Charity

The international disaster relief charity will be selling:

  • Gucci shoes worn by actress Sienna Miller;
  • a signed copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows from Emma Watson;
  • dresses donated by Florence Welch, Jemima Khan and Pearl Lowe;
  • a suit from Kevin Bacon;
  • a bow tie owned by David Walliams;
  • a signed Alexander McQueen scarf by Sarah Burton;
  • and shoes and a make-up box from Dame Shirley Bassey;

Marina Diamandis from the band Marina and the Diamonds has donated a selection of items including a ‘Manish Arora’ dress, A ‘school look’ top. vintage dress, old school cardigan, and ‘welovefairground’ dress. There will also be items from designer Matthew Williamson, Stephen Fry, Coldplay, Alice Temperley, Andy Murray, Judi Dench, Jamie Cullum, and Helen Mirren.

The charity, which provides emergency shelter and life-saving supplies to families around the world affected by disasters, is also launching an online auction on eBay. The auction is part of the ShelterBox Big Box and Buy campaign, designed to encourage people from across the UK to turn boxes of unwanted goods into boxes of life saving equipment that people desperately need, by selling unwanted household possessions.
